Inquisitor Draznel - Part 2
After a year of basic training in the art of combat, it was time for Draznel to become an apprentice to an inquisitor. Inquisitor Carrillo had been watching Draznel for the past two months and knew it was time to take him away from this place and train him more specifically for the path that he was to follow. So it was time to travel again, this time to a fort that is the base for a famed group of inquisitors "The Black Hammers of Iomedae".
It was here that Draznel was trained in not only the ways of combat, but also magic and methods to get information out of those that are less than willing. He was also taught that like the Paladins we are not to do harm to those that are good, but unlike them inquisitors can root out enemies of the faith, using trickery and guile when righteousness and purity is not enough. Although inquisitors are dedicated to a deity, they are above many of the normal rules and conventions of the church. They answer to their deity and their own sense of justice alone, and are willing to take extreme measures to meet their goals. He was also told that even if someone claims to be a follower of Iomedae they are not above suspicion.
So his training went this way for the following 5 years, occasionally going out on investigation with his master to see first hand the way that an inquisitor must conduct himself and when to use the skills that he was taught to extract information from suspicious people and know when they are telling the truth or not. After their last investigation in the city of Canorate in Molthune, Inquisitor Carrillo decided it was time for Draznel to become a full fledged inquisitor.
After a small ceremony Draznel was now known as Inquisitor Draznel, Black Hammer of Iomedae. He know knew his responsibilities and had been given his first investigation. He was to travel to the Lands of the Linnorm Kings to look into the settlement of Helgrim. So Inquisitor Draznel put all his gear together, strapped on his favourite weapons Truth and Consequence (Kukris) and set off.
He was halfway to his destination resting at camp, when a raven landed on the top of his tent with a note attached to its leg. So he took the note and set the raven off again. He read the note, then threw it on the fire. His investigation had now changed. He packed up his campsite and turned toward his new destination. It seems he would be heading south to Sandpoint.
